Crane Truck House
The world has obviously been flipped upside down and we’re all doing our best to keep it together. This is our house. Our son Nino gave it the nickname “Crane Truck House” (because that’s where he plays with his favorite toy crane truck). It was built in 1950 by one person, a 70 year old Irish stone mason who moved up to the woods from NYC (he supposedly died soon after he finished). My family and I have been hiding out here and we're very lucky to have a refuge like this...this house is like a member of the family. We bought it in a weird online auction 5 years ago and it was in pretty bad condition and I kind of hated it at first. I thought it was trying to kill me. Over time we worked our asses off and turned it back into a home. Our little boy loves it. In the interest of not losing my mind, I photographed a sort of 'portrait of home under quarantine' (with Nino’s help). The photographs were published on AD online.
